If you’re anywhere near Park Street in Kolkata and have even the slightest sweet tooth, a visit to Balaram Mullick & Radharaman Mullick is absolutely non-negotiable. This iconic sweet shop truly lives up to its legendary reputation. From the moment you walk in, the display counter is a visual delight — rows of beautifully crafted Bengali sweets that look almost too good to eat (almost!). We tried quite a spread: Mishti Doi, Sandesh, Sandesh Soufflé, Rasgulla, and Baked Rasgulla Kheer — and honestly, every single item was outstanding. • Mishti Doi was perfectly balanced — creamy, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness without being overpowering. • The Sandesh was fresh, soft, and delicately flavoured — you can taste the quality of the chhena in every bite. • The Sandesh Soufflé was a delightful surprise — light, airy, and innovative while still rooted in traditional flavours. • The Rasgulla was unbelievably soft and spongy, soaking up the syrup beautifully without feeling heavy. • And the Baked Rasgulla Kheer? Absolute brilliance. Rich, indulgent, and comfortingly decadent — the kind of dessert that makes you close your eyes after the first spoonful. What makes the experience even better is that everything is very reasonably priced for the quality and heritage you’re getting. In a prime location like Park Street, that’s honestly impressive. This place perfectly blends tradition with innovation. Whether you’re a local or visiting Kolkata, this is one sweet stop you shouldn’t miss. Every bite felt special — and we walked out smiling, completely satisfied. 🍮✨
Absolutely fire. So many delicious bengali sweets to choose from, and I was so excited to eat these that I already went in before remembering to take a photo of what I got. My favorite was the Nolen Gur Malai Chamcham which was like this custard or pudding, dulce de leche style cream over some bread soaked in syrup. Soooo yum. Also I ate this other one on the spot that I forgot the name of but it was a warm milky bread type sweet and that was incredible too.
Famous sweet shops with a lot of branches. Got baked rasogulla and assorted sweet boxes to take back to Bengaluru! They sell sweets by per piece basis and not by kg! Got Dilkush Sandesh, Jalbhara karapak, Monday Sandesh, Kheer Kadam, Babu Sandesh and Fruit and Nuts Sankha Sandesh in my assorted boxes! Couldn't took a few sweets like Nolan Gur Malai Sandesh as shelf live was not overnight!
