**SRM Institute of Science and Technology** is one of the well-known private universities in India, offering a wide range of courses in engineering, management, medicine, science, law, and other disciplines. The main campus at Kattankulathur is spacious and well-maintained, with modern classrooms, advanced laboratories, a central library, sports facilities, and multiple hostels. The campus environment is lively and multicultural, with students from different parts of India and abroad. Academically, SRM provides good exposure through industry-oriented curriculum, workshops, and research opportunities. Many faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive, though the quality of teaching may vary across departments. The university encourages innovation, research, and participation in technical and cultural events, making campus life engaging beyond academics. Placements are one of SRM’s key strengths. Several reputed companies visit the campus every year, especially for engineering and management programs. Students who maintain good academic performance and develop strong skills often secure decent placement offers. However, placement results depend largely on individual effort. On the downside, the fee structure is relatively high, and the large student population can sometimes make administrative processes slow. Hostel facilities are decent but can feel crowded during peak times. Overall, SRM Institute of Science and Technology is a good choice for students seeking quality education, strong exposure, and vibrant campus life, provided they are proactive and focused on skill development.

We visited SRM University for a hiring event, and the campus left a very positive impression. The infrastructure is excellent, with beautiful and spacious buildings that give the feel of a self-contained city. The campus includes its own hospital, hotel, hostels, and all the necessary facilities, making it very well-planned despite being in an area that’s not very developed. Facilities & Labs: The labs where the exams were conducted were top-notch, equipped with a good number of computers and modern infrastructure. The intranet and technical facilities were efficient and well-maintained, which made the entire process smooth and hassle-free. Overall Experience: The management and staff were professional and helpful, providing excellent support throughout our visit. Based on the infrastructure, facilities, and overall organization, I would highly rate SRM University — it’s impressive and well-maintained, making it a standout campus.

SRM Institute of Science and Technology surprised me in a really good way when I visited there to write my NPTEL exam. I expected just another busy college campus, but the place felt much more lively, organised and welcoming than I imagined. The campus atmosphere has a modern vibe with students moving around everywhere, greenery in many areas, and a nice balance between academics and student life. One thing that stood out immediately was the number of food options available. There are multiple canteens and places to eat, so you’re never really stuck with just one choice. From quick snacks to proper meals, the variety was impressive. Whether someone wants South Indian food, fast food or something simple with tea and snacks, there’s always something nearby. It gives the campus a very active and social feel. The coffee shops were another highlight. They had a range of drinks beyond just basic coffee and tea, making them great spots to relax before or after exams. It felt like those little places where students can sit, recharge and catch up with friends. I also noticed the supermarket inside campus, which was honestly unexpected. It was stocked with everyday essentials, snacks and even imported items like Prime, ramen, and different flavours of Monster. That made it feel less like a campus store and more like a mini lifestyle shop where students can grab both necessities and fun extras. Another interesting hidden gem was the salon on campus. It’s one of those conveniences you don’t expect but appreciate, especially for students living there or spending long hours on campus. The infrastructure also looked solid. The labs appeared clean and well-maintained, which reflects positively on the academic environment. Even the washrooms were clean, something that genuinely matters and often gets overlooked when talking about campuses. What made the visit even better was how the staff and security behaved. The security personnel were kind and approachable, which helps a lot when you're visiting for an exam and trying to find your way around. Instead of feeling stressed, the environment felt helpful and easy to navigate. Overall, SRM IST gave the impression of a campus that blends academics with comfort and convenience. It doesn’t just feel like a place to study, it feels like a complete student ecosystem where everything from food to facilities is taken care of. For someone visiting just for an exam, it definitely left a positive impression.
