I experience my 12yrs here from class 1 to 12 and I feel watch many changes from best school in Kolkata to top school in west bengal
Take a minute and read my whole experience before choosing this school. This is the harsh truth of this school no one is going to share, but I am sharing with you. Here is it: I had enrolled in Shree Jain Vidyalaya in the year 2022 in Class 11 (Science stream with Computer Science). In retrospect, I seriously feel that it was the worst decision that I could have made. What I believed to be an educational institution turned out to be a mismanaged, corrupt, and exploitative institution. Mobile Confiscation & Corruption in Fines In Class 11, one day there was a surprise phone check organized by the school coordinator. Some students, being truthful, accepted that they had phones on them. Rather than taking it in a professional manner, the staff hurled the phones and spoiled them in rage. They later called our parents and demanded that the phones be returned only after a fine of ₹200 for each student was paid. Shockingly, they issued a receipt of just ₹10, which clearly indicates they illegally pocketed ₹190 per student. More than 40 students were hit by this act. Poor Academic Support & Attendance Pressure There is no proper support for students who are preparing for JEE or NEET. They compel students to have high attendance, irrespective of external coaching or health, making it almost impossible to strike a balance between serious exam preparations. Class 12 – Worse Gets Worst In Class 12, things got even worse. A new coordinator, Mr. Verma, was appointed, along with his assistant (a math teacher, referred to here as Mr. Chopra), who clearly lacked proper teaching ability and only memorized content to deliver in class. These two, along with the Principal, were the most corrupt individuals I’ve ever come across. Following my sent-up exams, I was unable to give 4 revision tests for valid reasons. Though I had cleared the sent-up exams, they would not issue my Class 12 Board (HS) admit card without me paying a fine of ₹500 per test, which amounts to ₹2000. They did not even give me a receipt, and merely made excuses such as "account sir isn't available" or asked me to leave since I was to write an exam the next day. Many students had to pay ₹2000–₹3000, once again without any proof—mere exploitation. Domicile Certificate Exploitation Following the HS exam, I required the Domicile Certificate (Proforma A2). The school insisted on unnecessary documents and wanted ₹300, which I refused to pay. It seemed like every small requirement had a cost in this school. If they could, I'm certain they'd even charge us for breathing. Unprofessional Behaviour & Bias The school staff, especially some senior teachers, humiliated students in front of their classmates. They would mock students for their educational background, often saying things like, “You don’t know anything, go back to your old foolish school.” There is also obvious bias between Science and Commerce streams. Commerce students have air-conditioned classrooms while Science students have to endure poor ventilation with only fans in the hot weather—even though Science students pay higher fees. Shortage of Quality Teachers Aside from a handful (around 5%) truly excellent teachers, the majority of teachers do not have enough knowledge and pedagogical skills. They force students to take private tuition and threaten or reprimand those who refuse. It's all about profit now, nothing else. Conclusion Even though they received awards and media attention, this school does not deserve praise. Under the fake reputation, there is nothing but corruption, harassment, and mismanagement. I urge each and every parent and student to avoid Shree Jain Vidyalaya. Don't make the same mistake I did. Take my experience seriously—it's the bitter truth of this institution.
