Roots of Calcutta is a wonderful place for authentic and tasty food. The food quality is really good and full of flavor. I especially loved the Mutton Kosha, prawn dishes, fish fry, chilli chicken, and noodles—everything was delicious and well prepared. The management is excellent, very polite and attentive, which makes the experience even better. The atmosphere is very pleasant and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy a relaxed meal with family or friends. Overall, it’s a too good place for eating good food, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves quality food and a nice dining ambience. 😊

We tried out all the fish starters and the food is really good and priced very well. The service it good too. The place has dining rooms of varying sizes to rent out for private bookings. Lots of parking space around and the place gets really crowded 7pm onwards. Look out for regular discounts by paying via Zomato.

This was my second visit to this place. My first experience was top notch(just a week back), from food to service everything was as per the expectation. So I tipped the steward as well. Fromthis experience I thought of taking my family to this place. This time it was a PATHETIC EXPERIENCE. Service was WORST. We were waiting at the table for half an hour. Nobody came to take order. Then I had to call someone for taking my order. Now after placing order we HAD TO WAIT MORE THAN AN HOUR for the food to come to the table(after checking with them multiple times). Main course was served before starter. Then I had again and again asked them for the starter which was a simple fish finger. I can understand the rush during durga puja but Why I am utterly disappointed is same order was getting served just both the side of my table but was not coming to table. And to add the guests beside my table came after almost half an hour of us. We thought of leaving the restaurant, but waited 1.5 hour for food. I was requesting almost all the stewards for the food update. Nobody had any answer for it. We entered at 10 and left at 12 am. I planned to go to this place for celebrating my birthday which is on this month. But obviously from this experience NOT ANYMORE. NO THIRD or next VISIT from me. Lastly, Just one request to ROC when you are charging premium please take care of the overall experience as well.
