Just recently visited this place and it has been my second time. Although, I must admit, this place is definitely not for those who are particular about hygiene - but then again, to expect top-notch hygiene from a street corner shop is quite unseeming. The chicken stew with toast is an extremely popular dish and it truly did live upto its reputation. The fish fry was a bit on the expensive side, but only slightly. All in all, this place is a must try and one will definitely not fall sick after eating from there!

Chicken stew with butter toast and pakora is really good here. I have been here many times and I like the chaotic ambience in the street. Not really great on hygeine and stuff, but you cannot expect much from a street food stalls in kolkata. I would recommend this place because the unique chaotic experience it offers

I recently visited Chitto Babur Dokan near Peerless Bhawan, a spot that seems quite popular and perhaps a bit overhyped. It offers a variety of classic Kolkata street snacks, but the quality was inconsistent. What We Tried & Our Ratings: 1. Chicken Butterfry (₹50 for 4 pcs) & Vetki Fish Fry (Tentative ₹90): Both the chicken butterfry and the vetki fry were good in taste and perfectly crisp. Highly recommend sticking to their fried items. 2. Bread-Chicken Stew (₹130 with 2 quarter bread): This was unfortunately just average. While the chicken pieces were a good size, they were not boiled or cooked through properly, which negatively impacted the overall dish. 3. Bread-Ghugni (Tentative ₹50): The ghugni was disappointing. It lacked proper salt and seasoning, making the flavor very bland. While the fried snacks were tasty, considering the inconsistent quality of staple items like the Ghugni and Chicken Stew, and factoring in the pricing (e.g., ₹130 for the stew), I felt the place was somewhat overhyped. It’s worth a visit for a quick snack like the Chicken Butterfry, but manage your expectations for the main dishes.
