Suraj Lama Momos is one of Versova’s iconic momo spots, loved by locals. They serve great options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The paneer kurkure momos are a standout, along with their Suraj Lama Special. The thukpa (soup) is comforting and flavorful. A go-to place when you’re craving satisfying Tibetan-style street food.
Tried the classic chicken vada pav at Khau Vada Pav, Versova. It’s a different concept where a chicken patty is coated in besan and fried instead of the regular aloo vada. The taste was good and filling. Even though it’s a roadside stall, they’ve maintained good hygiene, which is a plus. However, I felt the taste can definitely be improved with better or more sauces. Hoping they work on it and make it even better in the future.
Suraj Lama Momos in Andheri Versova is a small restaurant with seating for around 25 to 30 people. The menu has Steamed Momo, Tandoori Momo, Fried Momo, Saucy Momo, Thukpa, Chowmein. We ordered Chicken Steamed Momo, Chicken Hariyali Tandoori Momo, Chicken Achari Tandoori Momo, and Suraj Lama Special Chicken Momo. The momo were served hot and fresh. The wrappers were soft and melt-in-mouth. The fillings were moist and full of flavour. The Chicken Hariyali Tandoori Momo was prepared in a green marinade, a signature at Suraj Lama. The Hariyali chutney was not ready at 2 PM, so it was served with regular momo chutney. The Chicken Achari Tandoori Momo was well-seasoned. The Suraj Lama Special Chicken Momo was spicy, tangy, and slightly sweet. Chicken Streamed Momo was decent. One drawback was a small bone in the Chicken Steamed Momo. The staff was polite. Service required a few reminders due to high orders. Some attention to hygiene is needed as flies were present around the tables. Compared to other Suraj Lama Momos outlets, cleanliness at this branch could be better Ratings Quality - 3/5 Quantity - 4/5 Service - 3.6/5 Price - ₹700 for 3 people
