NAIR MESS

Nair Mess is truly one of the OG places in Chennai, sitting in one of the narrowest lanes, this truly is worth the walk. An old school mess setup serving one of the best foods we have had in a really long time. The meals was great, you get the piping hot rice with sambar and the palyas. We had ordered the famous prawns fry which was super delicious, the tiniest prawns have the most flavor. The fish fry on the other hand was equally good that we ended up ordering one more. The omelette was as decent, went well with the thali that we had ordered. Lunch time can be quite busy, we took some time to get a seat on the first floor but totally worth the wait. The service started off pretty slow but we couldn’t blame them as the place was jam packed. Park your four wheeler on the main road and walk to this place and enjoy some amazing Kerala food in Chennai.

You can’t directly reach the place by car; however, that hasn’t stopped it from being a favorite spot for rich people, VIPs, politicians, and businessmen, many of whom walk a short distance just to dine here. That itself says a lot about the place. They offer unlimited non-veg meals for just ₹200, which is definitely value for money considering the variety available. You’ll find multiple non-veg dishes, and while the quantity per serving is slightly less, the taste is good and satisfying. The place is decent and clean, and the service is good and well-managed. Overall, it’s a nice spot for a hearty lunch, especially if you’re near Chepauk. Recommended to try at least once. 🍗🍛

Nair mess is a well k ow establishment. They serve veg meals with non veg sides. The portions are small but the prices are justified for same But the food above all tastes great. We went there a little late so most of the items on the list were out of stock. The service was a little slow and we had to call them for every small thing but that may be case to case basis as we had gone around the end of the m2al time. The veg meal items are also delicious. The prawn fry was outstanding and so was the omelette made in coconut oil. All in all a must visit ans go there in time.
