Even though I’m not a student of this university, I had the opportunity to attend my medical coaching classes by DBMCI here from August to November 2025, and it turned out to be an excellent experience overall. From the moment you enter the campus, it’s clear that the infrastructure is thoughtfully designed and very well maintained. The entire environment feels clean, organized, and conducive to focused academic work. The auditorium deserves special appreciation — it is spacious, well-ventilated, and equipped with excellent acoustics and seating arrangements. Even during long hours of lectures, it remained comfortable and distraction-free, which made a significant difference in maintaining concentration and productivity. The cafeteria is another standout feature. It offers a good variety of food options, and the quality is consistently decent. More importantly, it provides a relaxed and welcoming space to take breaks, recharge, and interact with peers during intensive study schedules. One of the biggest advantages of this university is its prime location. Being situated in close proximity to all major areas in central Bangalore, commuting is extremely convenient. Whether it’s public transport, food outlets, or other essentials, everything is easily accessible, which makes day-to-day logistics hassle-free. Security, cleanliness, and overall campus management also deserve appreciation. The staff are helpful, and the campus feels safe and well-regulated at all times. Overall, even as a non-student visitor, my experience here was extremely positive. The combination of excellent infrastructure, a comfortable learning environment, and strategic location makes this campus stand out. I would highly recommend it to anyone attending academic programs or events here.

St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore, holds a special place in my heart as I spent the best 3 years of my life studying here. The campus is vibrant, the faculty is exceptional, and the overall experience shaped me in so many ways. It has now become a university, and they are doing marvels in their respective fields, continuing to set benchmarks in education. Once a Josephite, always a Josephite!

Academically, St. Joseph’s University is… fine. Not terrible, not impressive, just aggressively average. Many faculty members are inexperienced and often recycle 300-slide presentations downloaded from the internet (with their names slapped on top) and still somehow don’t finish the syllabus. If you join here, be prepared to teach yourself most of your degree. Backlogs are almost a campus tradition at this point. A special warning for science students: if you have ambition, research goals or dreams of scholarships, this is not the place. Getting attendance for internships is a battle and if you succeed anyway, brace yourself because some faculty may reward your independence by quietly lowering your grades. Meanwhile, win third place in a lemon-and-spoon race and suddenly you are an Olympic prospect with full attendance. If you want an easy college life: choose BA English/Journalism/Film making majors and be mildly good at any sport. Congratulations!! You are living Rohan Nanda’s life from Student of The Year. Science majors, however, get the short end of the stick. The labs are under-equipped and even an accidental broken test tube (a normal part of learning) comes with a bill and unpaid dues can block you from writing exams. Ironically, the lab attender/assistant often knows science better than the teaching faculty. Respect to them for actually helping students. Campus environment is decent but not huge. Non-teaching staff are the only helpful people here. But some faculty take “mood swings” to an Oscar level. Stand near the Zoology department long enough and you might experience one. Do not assume that I told you to check the first faculty listed on the Zoology department faculty homepage. If you want to know exactly who I am referring to. Organizing intra college events require chasing 50 signatures from 50 people and every week there’s some new event happening, which you may like. If you want real research facilities or academic growth, especially in science. DO YOUR MASTER’S ELSEWHERE. The cafeteria is sadly the only truly well-equipped department here. Genuine Rating from a Former Student: Academics: 2/5 Campus Activities: 3.5/5 Environment: 3/5 Cafeteria: 4/5
