Hashtag, located on the 8th floor of 50 Chowringhee Road, has become one of Kolkata’s most talked-about rooftop destinations. As of early 2026, it maintains a strong reputation, primarily for its panoramic views of the city skyline, including clear sights of the Victoria Memorial, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and the Hooghly Bridge. Ambiance and Vibe Reviewers frequently highlight the "Instagram-worthy" décor and the unique addition of swinging or rocking seats, which add a playful touch to the sophisticated lounge atmosphere. The spacious layout makes it a popular choice for office parties, romantic dates, and casual hangouts with friends. Food and Drink The menu is multi-cuisine, featuring popular items like biryani, noodles, and flavorful starters. While the food is generally described as delicious and well-presented, some recent visitors feel it is secondary to the view, with a few critiques regarding inconsistent service during peak hours. The bar serves an extensive range of cocktails and mocktails, though some find the pricing to be on the higher side (averaging ₹2,500 for two). Highlights: Best Feature: Unmatched rooftop views of central Kolkata. Must-Try: Tasty starters and signature cocktails. Vibe: Vibrant and modern with live music and a lively pub feel at night. Overall, it remains a top-tier choice for those seeking a memorable "view with a meal" experience in the heart of the city.

The place has amzing decor, view and vibe. The food tasted really good. However, given the price point, the menu could have been much more elaborate. In non veg they only served two or three dishes of fish and chicken in the starter. The stunner was baklava in the desset. The rooftop would be amazing in the evening if the weather is nice. However, we went there for brunch so, had an afternoon view of victoria, St. Paul's and second hooghly bridge.

Arguably one of the places with the best views of Kolkata’s iconic landmarks. The rooftop seating is currently closed due to updated municipality regulations, but if you get the right table, you can still enjoy a lovely city view while sipping or snacking. I visited in the evening towards the end of December (peak winter). Visibility was a bit low, so I could clearly see Victoria Memorial and St. Paul’s Cathedral right next to the place, but the bridges weren’t visible. My suggestion: go before sunset for the best views. Now coming to the food, absolutely fantastic. I ordered three items and loved every single one of them. Highly recommend the food here. I have ordered veg food but they have plenty of non-veg options. What I ordered & ratings: 1. Asparagus Tofu Dimsum – 5/5 2. Curried Wild Mushroom Soup – 6/5 (the extra point because it was perfect for the winter evening) 3. Tres Leches – 5/5 The food is on the pricier side, but if it fits your budget, it’s definitely worth trying. Check the snippet for the price of the food I ordered. TLDR: Great food, great ambience, professional service, and potentially great views, especially if you time it right.
