Recently visited Sambarpot, Lajpat Nagar and honestly had a really good South Indian dining experience. Right from the beginning, we were greeted with warm rasam which instantly gave comforting South Indian vibes. We started with Dal Vada and Idly Fries — the idly fries were crispy, light and something kids would genuinely enjoy. Then we had the Rava Idli and Thatte Idli, both super soft, fresh and full of authentic flavours. For dosa, we tried the Unicorn Dosa and the Pandu Mirch Masala Dosa. The Pandu Mirch dosa had a unique pickle flavour twist (pandu means pickle) and turned out to be surprisingly delicious. Coming to the drinks, we tried the Mango Shake, Pineapple Drink and Guava Drink — and honestly all three were super refreshing. The presentation was also really aesthetic, especially the pineapple drink which was served in a pineapple-shaped jar. The mango shake looked amazing with ice cream and fresh mango pieces on top, and tasted equally good. But the absolute highlight for us was the South Indian Thali. Everything in the thali was perfectly balanced, comforting and packed with flavour. Easily the best thing we had there and something we would definitely recommend trying.
I ordered a Garlic Rava Dosa and my friend ordered Onion Rava Dosa. Both were excellent. The sambar was a bit different to what I usually taste in restaurants. The chutneys were good. Also we had Sweet Lassi which was nice. Service was good. However I could not understand being charged ₹30/- for “Paste”. I asked them what that charge was for & was told it’s for the Garlic that I wanted on Rava Dosa. Seriously?
While shopping in lajpat nagar , I accidentally saw this restaurant. There were people outside waiting for their turn . So i decided to try their meal. Their thali is ten out of 10 ! Lachcha paratha . Sabzi and rice is so delicious.dosa is also very good . Must try their vegetarian options.staff is very hospitable.
