Tried food from here and I absolutely love this place. The Tibetan vibe is amazing never expected to find a spot like this on brigade road. It’s a bit tricky to locate since it’s on the 2nd floor, but totally worth it. They play soft Tibetan music in the background, which makes the whole experience calm and authentic. This was my second visit. On my first visit, I tried quick snacking beef, fried chicken momos, and thukpa, everything was really great! On the second visit, we tried chicken Schezwan fried rice, butter garlic noodles, chicken tenthuk dry, steamed momos, fried momos, and chicken fried rice. The fried rice was average, but the butter garlic noodles were tasty and the fried momos were really good. I especially liked the dry chicken tenthuk. Steamed momos were good too. I’ve tried them before, though this time they felt a bit less salty. They are serving decent portion of food. The spice level is a little high here for certain items, so it’s better to check the spice level of the dishes before ordering. I have a low spice tolerance, so it was slightly too much for me, but the taste was great, so I still enjoyed it anyway.
As someone from Kolkata, I'm always looking for quaint, hidden places that serve good cheap food and Taste of Tibet is exactly that place (one of my friends showed it to me, BIG thanks to her). It is a bare bones place with plastic furniture, flower patterned table covers and cheap steel and plastic crockery, not for the instagrammers and that makes me really happy. The food is filling and warm and while the taste left me desiring a bit more (especially the shyapta bc I'm used to eating a dry one), I'd still go back again and again. The staff is nice and friendly too. Just a place that makes you happy!
A Hidden Gem! One of the best-kept secrets in town! Staff is super friendly, and the taste is simply speechless! Every dish is a masterpiece, with authentic Tibetan flavors that will leave you craving for more. A must-try experience!
