** Honest Review: A Slice of Punjab in the Heart of Pune! ** If you are tired of the "spice wars" in the city and want food that actually has layers of flavor, look no further. Shahji’s Paratha House is an institution for a reason. They don’t just serve food; they serve an experience that feels like a Sunday lunch after which you can have a sound sleep ♥️ The Parathas are the undisputed stars-crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and stuffed so generously that you’ll wonder how they managed to close them. The Highlights: • The Food: Authentic North Indian flavors. The Chur Chur Naan Thali is a must-try the texture is flaky perfection. Pair this with Samosa chat, trust me this is the best sider 🔥 • The Lassi: You haven't truly finished your meal here until you’ve had their Mango Lassi. It’s the ultimate cool-down after a hearty meal. Overall, this is easily one of the best spots in Pune for anyone who values taste over gimmicks. It’s rich, it’s heavy, and it is worth every single calorie.
We were a group of 3 at lunch on a Monday afternoon . We got a table inside quite easily . We ordered a kala khatta fizz , masala chaas and krackjack lassi . Both the masala chaas and krackjack lassi ( sweet n salty ) were excellent. However the kala khatta fizz didnt quite hit the mark. For mains we ordered the chhole bhature , bedami puri with aloo tamatar subzi and chur chur paratha plate . All three were excellent . Special mention must be made of the pickles on the table to accompany the food - the gajar gobi ( carrot cauliflower)pickle was top notch . For dessert we ordered a plate of gulab jamun and jalebi with rabri. The two pieces of gulab jamun were hot and fluffy and not too sweet - just right . There were 8 pieces of jalebi with a katori of rabri. Again jalebi’s were nice and crisp on the outside and soft n juicy inside . Their sweetness complement the not too sweet rabri very well . Overall the food was good so will definitely visit the restaurant to try other items on the menu.
Sanjoy was nice person working here, his hospitality was really nice. Food was super tasty. They have maintained cleanliness. We ordered Chur chur naan and dilli waale parathe both were awesome.
