Visited this place after hearing a lot about it and standing in a long queue. We ordered butter kulcha/naan with chole, rajma/chole chawal, raita, onions and papad. The food was good and satisfying. The kulcha was nicely cooked and flaky, chole was decent, and the rajma/chole chawal was filling and homely. Raita and onions were just standard sides. However, considering the crowd and waiting time, the food is not something extraordinary. It’s good, but nothing special or unique compared to many other North Indian places. Worth trying if you’re nearby, but not worth standing in a long queue just for the hype.

Jain Chawal Wale is one of the most talked-about spots in Connaught Place, but in my experience, it doesn’t fully justify the hype. The food is okay — decent enough for a quick meal, but far from memorable. Their Rajma Chawal and Chole Bhature are simple and filling, with generous portions at budget-friendly prices. Service is usually quick when the crowd is manageable, making it a convenient option if you want a basic vegetarian meal without spending much. That said, hygiene and consistency are noticeable drawbacks. The place often feels overcrowded and hectic, and cleanliness — especially tables and utensils — can be hit or miss. Some dishes lack proper seasoning or arrive unevenly cooked, and presentation is minimal. Seating is quite limited as well, so comfort isn’t really part of the experience. Overall, it’s an average stop if you’re nearby and want straightforward North Indian comfort food. It works for a quick bite, but it’s not a destination I’d specifically plan a visit for. A solid 2-star experience — acceptable, but not exceptional.
