One of the oldest & famous sweet shop of pune. Must try their Bhakarwadi, one of the best in town. Sweets, Namkins & many more packed food products. Situated on main road, no parking spot available.
This iconic main Chitale shop at Bajirao Road is nothing short of a nostalgia. Have been a frequent visitor here over many years. The set up in shop still the same with many other changes, most notable being the shop being open on all days (including 1 pm to 4 pm). All items here are fresh and taste the same after many years. Now they have many new packaged products as well which are displayed separately. Bakarwadi, Mango Barfi, different types of Barfi, Medha and Ladu are their main speciality. It's a cultural Hotspot of Pune for Puneites and also for visitors. Must visit place.
Chitale Bandhu Mithaiwale truly lives up to its reputation—the Bhakarwadi tastes fantastic. I also tried their innovative Dharwad peda – gulkand flavour, and it was surprisingly delicious. Their shopping system is quite unique: you first collect a barcode token, then pick up items at different counters where each stop updates the same barcode. At the end, you simply hand over the token at billing, they scan it, and you pay for everything in one go. Smooth and efficient. Overall, a must-visit for anyone who loves traditional Maharashtrian snacks and sweets.
