Visiting here was like stepping through a portal into the opulence of the Nizam’s era. Perched high above the city of Hyderabad, the "Mirror of the Sky" offered us an experience a couple of years ago that remains as vivid today as the moment we arrived. The journey began with an incredible escort from the main entrance to the palace doors in a little cart; the display of hospitality that made us feel like honored guests of the royal court. As we were guided through the palace, the host curated a narrative that breathed life into the marble corridors. Each room we entered held its own unique history and whispered stories of a bygone age. I found myself completely captivated by the ceiling paintings; the intricate artistry was so breathtaking and ethereal that it felt almost out of place in the modern world, a preserved masterpiece of celestial beauty. The culinary experience was equally transformative. We indulged in authentic Hyderabadi cuisine, where every spice and texture honored the city's rich gastronomic heritage. However, the true moment of the evening occurred on the rooftop. As the sun dipped below the horizon, our host recited beautiful Shayaris, his poetic rhythm echoing over the sprawling, twinkling lights of Hyderabad below. Overlooking our city from such a majestic vantage point, wrapped in the warmth of Urdu poetry and history, we realized we were making memories that would remain etched in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
