This place is co-existing with Piccadilly Square. Overall the ambience is good and the staff were really nice and fast with serving the orders. The place is decorated really well for the Christmas as well. The name of the place is really appropriate as they served so many chutneys with idli. Loved all of them. Unique, tangy and tasty. The paper masala dosa was also well made and crispy. The Masala aloo was served separately. Pocket pinch is not high. Really reasonable and perfect in the price range.

We visited The Chutney Co after hearing a lot about their 9 varieties of chutneys served with dosa. We reached in the early evening on a holiday, but it wasn’t too crowded and we got a table easily. The menu is purely vegetarian, with South Indian staples like dosa, idli, and vada, along with some options like pizza and pasta. We tried Masala Dosa, Ghee Masala Dosa, Benne Dosa, and pasta. The dosas were really good, especially the Benne Dosa, which felt quite authentic — something you rarely get in Kolkata or outside South India. They serve 9 types of chutneys along with sambar, and they refill them once finished. While the chutneys didn’t stand out much for me, the sambar was excellent. We ended with gelato and filter coffee, which was a nice finish. Service is a bit slow and laid back, but the staff are polite and cordial. Overall, a good place if you’re looking for authentic dosa in Kolkata.

Tucked away on the 1st floor of Centre Point at Lal Dighi, B.B.D. Bagh, The Chutney Co. is a lovely find, especially if you’re around Dalhousie during office hours and craving a good dosa. The place immediately stands out for its wide range of dosas, including several Jain-friendly options, which is honestly quite rare in this part of the city. We tried the Benne Dosa and the Cheese Paper Dosa. The benne dosa was easily the star—soft, fluffy, and nicely buttery, exactly how a proper benne dosa should be. The cheese paper dosa was crisp and tasty, familiar but comforting. The real highlight, though, is their chutney spread. You get three complimentary chutneys, with more options available at an extra cost—and it’s worth going beyond the basics. We sampled the peanut chutney, curaikkay (bottle gourd) chutney—which was surprisingly delicious—spicy coconut chutney, sweet onion-tomato chutney, spicy tomato chutney, and Mysore chutney. The spicy tomato chutney clearly stood out, bold, punchy, and the best of the lot. Overall, The Chutney Co. is a solid, no-nonsense spot for South Indian food with an interesting twist thanks to its chutneys. If you’re anywhere near Centre Point, 21 Hemanta Basu Sarani, it’s definitely worth dropping in for a comforting dosa and a few extra bowls of chutney.
