Soam near Babulnath Chowpatty is a lovely place to enjoy authentic, homely Gujarati food in a calm and welcoming setting. I visited on a weekday and had a wonderful, relaxed experience without any rush. We tried the Undhiyu, Jowar Roti, Puri, and Mango Lassi, and everything tasted fresh, balanced, and full of traditional flavours. The meal ended perfectly with a delicious Kulfi. The service was warm and attentive, and the overall atmosphere made the visit even more enjoyable. A great spot for anyone who appreciates simple, soulful Indian vegetarian food.
Went here on a weekday afternoon and the place was packed. I had to wait 30 mins to get a table for 2. The staff was polite and courteous. We tried the pankhi which was served steaming hot. It was soft and delicious but the quantity is less for the price. Next up we tried the farsan platter which had a few pieces of the palak samosa, dhokla and pattice. All them were so tasty and fresh. We also decided to try the Jowar pita pocket which was good but could do with less mayo. Overall it's good to try the gujarati dishes, though it is on the pricey side.
I think this is the best food I have tasted in a while ! The atmosphere was very nice. The restaurant was clean and the dishes were their highlight. We had Puran Poli with Kadi the tastiest I had in years, and Methi Thepla with laal batata nu shak. The server was friendly and helpful.
