Extremely disappointed with my experience with South Ruchi. I bought dosa powder in Feb 2026. When I opened it at home, it had worms and worm threads inside. The manufacturing date shows Jan 2026 (best before 6 months), but the date is just a sticker, which makes me question whether dates are being changed. This is a serious hygiene issue. Visited for lunch with family. The ambience is okay for a restaurant, though it could have been brighter. The service is good, and the food tastes average. We tried the Bale Yele Oota (meals), which included multiple dishes such as grape juice, payasa, rotti, junaka, pulao, etc. (you can refer to the menu image I’ve posted). The food was average—not the best, but decent. The rotti was served cold, and when we asked for fresh, hot ones, we were unfortunately served cold rotti again. Was the visit worth it? Maybe once. Overall, the food was average, the service was good, and the ambience was okay.

I had the south thali & it was ___ ____. I don't know if words are sufficient to appreciate how delicious every single item was. I started with a bite of the ragi mudde with uppu saru, then a bit of the gourd halwa! I had to stop eating right away, as I realized, I must have some punya made in a past life to have walked into this place of all the options in the area. Or, just that day Indra Himself decided to tease me by giving a small glimpse of the kind of food I used to enjoy in my previous existence in His Indraloka. It must be a sign. Every bite of other items I tasted also gave me the feeling that it must be Indra's blessing that had led to this divine experience. If you get distracted by the chaos of this crowded place, sitting with strangers sharing the same table, and don't 100% focus your entire attention on your indriyas experiencing RUCHI, you can't relate to this at all. Actually I even considered walking out because it was so crowded & not sure how long I'll have to wait. But Indra made me stay. The thali came with two traditional sweets - delicious payasam & the aforementioned gourd halwa (Thank You Indra!). The staff even gave me a generous refill of the halwa!! TYI! They really didn't need to give an after meal dessert - a small bowl of cut fruits with tiny scoop of some ice cream. It was meh, they can avoid serving this. This can be ignored for the purposes of this review. It was just Indra mocking me by gently reminding I'm still in this Bhuloka transit stopover, with my excess baggage of karma. (Also, did not get a "welcome drink" but it is on the menu.) Courteous staff, excellent service & though you don't see them, the amazing kitchen crew! Thanks to the entire team! Because I was appreciating everything, eating slowly & enjoying, the host came over after I was done to ask how was the food. I just said "punya maadiru beku". Ashte.
