My Tata Tigor prompted 'check engine' light (first time in 7 years) and shortly afterwards limited RPM to 1000-1200, and speed to 20 km/hr (upto 3rd gear). Upon looking online for nearby workshops in Santacruz area, Oberai Garage near Kalina University popped up in 1st three options. Called the number on Google listing and the owner, Mr. Kishor Oberai answered in the middle of his morning puja on Diwali and promised to reach the workshop in 45 mins (he did!). He took a short drive and diagnosed clutch kit issue, said he will start work immediately, order parts and return the car same night, mostly. I handed over the keys, shared a glass of lassi with him (as it was noon by then), he estimated cost of job to be ₹10,000 and asked me to transfer full advance (which I did with a bit of reluctance) and left with more hope than I've had at OEM workshop. As stated by him, he started sharing pics of progress update every couple of hours (incl. original parts ordered displaying MRP) and by 8pm same day said the problem was solved. Reached my location in an hour to deliver the car, and when I drove, it felt like it had been thoroughly serviced, not just the issue at hand had been addressed. Delighted by his speedy end-to-end response (while mentally hoping & praying that the issue had been correctly identified & fully addressed with no tail-end problems to crop-up later), I saw the bill which had overshot his estimate by almost 40% (largely due to the significant labour charge besides additional parts replaced by him at his discretion such as clutch bearings, spark plugs for best driving performance). I paid him fully without negotiating while I asked him to assure that he'd take care of the problem on priority if it were to recur in coming months (he said 5-year warranty later). I would recommend Oberai's garage to anyone who is looking for premium service, quality (original parts) and speedy resolution to their automotive issues. He has rich experience of more than 3 decades, a solid team of veteran mechanics, great relationship with component suppliers for swift delivery, a conduct that's professional & client-centric with a long after-job warranty not seen elsewhere.
