Wengers is really famous and I wanted to try a lot of their stuff. I went at their opening time and ordered chicken patty, mutton party, mushroom roll, paneer roll, shami kebab, cream roll, napoleon pastry, chocolate eclair, rum ball, english doughnut, blueberry danish, apple danish and fruit mince pie. The shami kebab was nice, the patty and rolls tasted typical and nothing special. I didn't like the taste of rum ball, cream roll was okay, disliked the fruit mince pie. The danish pastries were decent. Loved the eclairs and napoleon pastry, while English doughnut was okay. The store has a lot of variety and for desserts, it is quite reasonably priced. But i do think it is overhyped in terms of taste. There was crowd at opening time too. Service was fast. I think it is more famous for nostalgia.
Wenger’s in Connaught Place isn't just a bakery; it’s an emotion and a slice of Delhi’s rich history. Stepping into this iconic establishment instantly transports you back in time, triggering a wave of pure nostalgia. For decades, it has stood the test of time, maintaining a charm that is hard to find in modern cafes. The Food: Absolutely Perfect When it comes to the food, Wenger’s never disappoints. Every bite reflects their legacy of quality and authentic flavors. The Desserts: The sweet treats are the real showstoppers. From their rich chocolate eclairs and gooey are consistent, high-quality, and worth every rupee. Service: The Only Hiccup If there is one area where Wenger's falls short, it is the service speed. Because of its massive popularity, the outlet is almost always crowded, which unfortunately leads to noticeable delays in service. The staff often seems stretched thin, and managing the queue to get your hands on your favorite treats takes longer than expected. A bit of crowd management and quicker order fulfillment would easily make the experience flawless. Go there for the incredible food, stay for the nostalgia, and just pack a little bit of patience along with your appetite!
Wenger’s in Connaught Place is a legendary spot that truly lives up to its reputation. Despite the overwhelming crowd and slightly confusing ordering system, the quality of food, especially the cakes and the legacy of the place make it a memorable experience. Detailed Review: The first thing that struck me was the massive rush at Wenger’s, especially considering it was peak noon during winters. I was genuinely surprised to see so many people packed into the shop. My friend then explained that this is one of the oldest and most iconic food outlets in Connaught Place, which instantly made the crowd make sense. The shop mainly had non-vegetarian items on display, which my friend opted for, while I decided to try one of their famous cakes. The process of ordering was a bit confusing at first. You have to stand in one line just to choose your items, after which you’re given a slip. This slip needs to be shown at a separate payment counter, and once paid, you hand it over to another person who finally gives you your selected items. It felt unnecessarily complicated, but perhaps it’s their way of managing the never-ending rush. Most items were already sold out by noon, which was surprising but clearly reflects the demand. The cakes looked amazing, and the small cake I chose tasted really good fresh, rich, and satisfying. The crowd mostly seemed well-heeled, adding to the classic CP vibe. Overall, despite the chaos, Wenger’s is worth visiting at least once.
