They have all categories of Marathi books. It's a good place and people there are cooperative. They host various book events and launches. It's just they don't have a huge collection of english books though.

⭐ Akshardhara Book Gallery ‒ A Literary Oasis in Pune If you're a lover of novels, poems, biographies or stories, Akshardhara Book Gallery is nothing short of a revelation. From the moment you walk in, it feels like finding water in a desert—unexpected, refreshing, deeply satisfying. --- 🏛️ Ambience & Design: Every Detail Speaks of Care The gallery is thoughtfully designed with warm ambient lights, pristine interiors, stained-glass roshandans (skylights) and a welcoming palette that instantly puts you in a reading-mood. Seating arrangements—both indoors and in the stair-case/outdoor green-shaded spaces—offer corners to sit, read, discuss or simply soak in the literary vibe. The staff are helpful and courteous. Even the features like payment flexibility (cash, cards, NFC, etc.) and online ordering add to the convenience. --- 📚 Collection: Vast, Diverse & Special The book range stretches from regional Marathi treasures to international works, even from rural and remote area writers—making it a rare haven for eclectic tastes. You went for 1-2 books and left with 8–10—that impulse purchase feels very much in character here. There is a special section for rare and antique books—from presses like Geeta Press, Ramkrishna Math, Sahitya Akademi and National Book Trust—making it a goldmine if you’re a collector or researcher. Enthusiasts of Marathi literature will find almost anything: biographies, classic fiction, contemporary works, dictionaries, etc. If something isn’t in stock, they’ll often get it for you. --- 📍 Location, Timing & Extras You’ll find the gallery in Sanas Plaza, 1302, Bajirao Road, Near Atre Hall, Shukrawar Peth, Pune—right in the heart of the city, easily visible from the road. Open every day (Mon–Sun) roughly from 10:00-10:30 am to 8:30 pm, so you’ve got plenty of time to explore. They host events—author workshops, seminars, literary meetings—and create a community vibe, encouraging readers to engage beyond just buying books. --- 💬 From Others Who’ve Been There > “If you’re looking for regional (Marathi) books there’s Akshardhara Book Gallery in Shukrawar Peth. Their collection is huge.” “This place is the best place where you can find almost any Marathi literature... Ambience is fine that you will at least take 1 hr to come out, and surely with many books.” --- ✔️ What Makes It Stand Out It’s more than a store—it’s a space, beautifully crafted to draw you in, let you linger, lose track of time. It balances popular, modern titles with hidden gems, rare editions and culturally rich regional literature. The staff’s willingness to help source rare works, the regular discounts and events, and the location make it a literary and social hub. --- 🔖 Minor Notes (for Fine-Tuning) Because the collection is so vast, you might need to spend extra time browsing; it can be overwhelming for a quick buy. For rare/antique books, sometimes demand is high or stock is limited—querying ahead or asking staff helps. --- 🌟 Final Word Akshardhara isn’t just a bookstore—it’s a literary balm. Whether it's the thrill of discovering a long-searched book, the comfort of a cozy corner with a poem in hand, or the joy of walking out with a pile of new worlds under your arm—this gallery delivers. For any book lover in Pune or passing through, it's a must-visit, a place you’ll return to again and again.
