Dinner at Exotica Hyderabad - Madhapur Exotica needs no introduction - One of the best restaurants serving North India dishes with good consistency in taste and quality! We had a team dinner at the Hitech City Branch for a group of 25 people and a private dining area was arranged. Ordered a plethora of dishes and most of them were good. Murgh Ke Champ, Murgh Kasturi Kebab, Malai Broccoli, Lehsooni Fish Tikka, Chili Prawns, Garlic Naan with Frontier Chicken Curry, Jeera Rice with Dal Tadka were the best! Other dishes we had are Chicken Butter Chili Garlic Noodles, Chicken Hot n Sour Soup, Dahi ke Kebab, Gosht dum Biryani, Boneless Chicken Biryani, Dal Tadke Wali, Lehsooni Palak Paneer! For desserts, Walnut Brownie with scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream and Malai Kulfi with Falooda were delectable. Overall, it was a good feast! #MysticalFoodie
While the taste of the food was undeniably good, the experience overall was disappointing and concerning. At the very beginning of the meal, I found a tiny pink piece of plastic in the Veg Manchurian. At this price point, this is not just unacceptable but also unhygienic and potentially harmful. Paying premium prices, one expects strict quality control and basic food safety this was a serious letdown. I ordered a fairly elaborate spread expecting a premium dining experience. Starters: Veg Manchurian (Dry), Palak Patta chaat, Achari Paneer, Murgh Chaamp, Chicken Lollipops. Main Course:Dal Tadka, Lachha Paratha, Garlic Naan The staff behaviour further added to the poor experience. I visited exactly at opening time (12 PM), when most tables were empty. The outdoor seating with a view had multiple tables available, but two of them were occupied by chefs casually chatting. When I requested to be seated at one of the larger view tables, the staff were uncooperative and unfriendly, insisting we sit elsewhere simply because we were two people, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. We were then seated at a table directly facing the washroom, with a strong smell of phenols and cleaning chemicals. When I raised this concern, it was brushed off casually, claiming the smell was from outside which was clearly not the case. Eventually, after the chefs vacated their table, we shifted seats and the food arrived. While the taste was good, both of us experienced a burning sensation in the stomach afterward, raising serious concerns about the quality of oil or spices used. When each dish costs around ₹600 on average, one expects attention to hygiene, ingredient quality, and respectful service. Unfortunately, this visit fell short on all three fronts. Overall, despite the good flavours, the lack of professionalism, hygiene lapses, and dismissive attitude make this a place I would not choose to visit again.
