Visited Dhaba 29 recently and had a mixed experience. The food was genuinely good, we tried the Haryanvi Thali, which had a nice variety of curries and authentic flavors. However, there was no regular rice included, only bajre ki khichdi. The ghee shakkar sweet served at the end was a lovely touch and definitely a highlight. Service-wise, the staff was polite and helpful in suggesting the right combinations and advising on thali portions. That said, they weren’t very transparent about pricing. They recommended additional rotis and rice but did not clearly mention that these were chargeable extras and not part of the thali, which felt a bit misleading. Also found the pricing on the higher side, ₹89 for an average-sized bajre ki roti seemed expensive. Overall: Good food and decent service, but pricing and communication about add-ons could be clearer.
We had dinner at Dhaba 29 at sector 29. We went with little apprehension but came back with smiles and satisfaction. The place may seem very simple to some people. It is a dhaba themed restaurant. We had dal makhni and paneer butter masala and both were super scrumptious. They kept coming in between to take our feedback and served as complimentary curry (yellow kari) and at last a bajra roti loaded with Desi ghee and jaggery. It was so authentic and tasted super delicious. We were informed that they use pure ghee to prepare their food. Here , the condiments, 5 to 6 types of chutneys added to the taste of the food. Overall experience was good and we would definitely visit there again. 👍👍
Dhaba is a place where you go for a particular flavour of food. And this place does you the favours with such an amazing burst of flavours. And if flavours feel short , you get a whole platter of chutneys hand ground …. including the red chilly bomb chutney which can be relished at your own risk. We ordered a Chicken dish with Dal makhani and it was absolutely fabulous. The kadak tandoori roti was a dish in itself and you could make out that they grow their own ingredients. So highly recommended and avoid the 9-9.30 pm slot as you will have to face a lot of waiting ….but they have fast service and that can be managed with some patience…..which will be worth it. (I visited it again after two days of my first visit to check whether they are consistent. But the flavours were the same and overwhelming.)
