On a windy evening, I visited Darjeeling Lepcha Momo Outlet near Versova Beach. The outlet was crowded when I arrived, but we got seated within minutes. It is a small non AC setup with about 8 tables, so it can feel a bit packed during peak hours. I tried the Chicken Hariyali Tandoori Momo and Chicken Peri Peri Momo. The Hariyali Momo was prepared in the tandoor, which gave it a subtle smoky. The green chutney served alongside complemented it nicely. The Chicken Peri Peri Momo was fried and slightly oily on the outside. The peri peri coating was flavourful and evenly spiced, however the actual stuffing lacked the flavor and texture. It could have been more succulent and better seasoned to create a more balanced bite. I feel a well made Momo is flavourful from within, not just coated well on the outside. Overall, I would say it was a decent visit. Service was good and timely. Darjeeling Lepcha Momos is one of Versova’s iconic momo spots, loved by locals. They serve great options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The momos are a standout, along with their thukpa (soup) is comforting and flavorful. A go-to place when you’re craving satisfying Tibetan-style street food.

Recently, we visited Darjeeling Lepcha Momos restaurant, where we ordered Chicken Peri Peri Deep-Fried Momos, Chicken Tandoori Momos, and Chicken Thukpa Soup. The Tandoori Momos were absolutely delicious — flavorful and perfectly cooked. The Peri Peri Momos were good too, but they had a bit too much Peri Peri masala, which made them overly spicy and affected the overall taste. However, the real surprise was the Chicken Thukpa Soup — it was mind-blowingly good! We had ordered just one bowl to try it out, and it turned out to be the best decision. The soup was rich, loaded with ingredients, and had a unique taste that set it apart from regular Chinese soups. Highly recommend trying the Thukpa Soup — it’s a must-have! The food here is also halal (we confirmed this with the waiter). Overall, it was a really good experience, and we’ll definitely visit again — especially for that amazing Thukpa Soup.
