Went there for the nostalgic memories. What use to be a huge crowd puller was all empty. All food items that we had have gone down the hill. A good snack place lost to commercialism. Lassi now comes in take away plastic cups. Its once famous boondi is now highly sugary and has very bitter taste

MM Mithaiwala was once considered one of the go-to snack spots in its prime years — a place people would specially visit for chaat and mithai. Over time, however, it feels like it has settled into being more of a familiar, comforting neighbourhood stop rather than a standout destination. When I visited recently, it felt reliable and comforting, but not particularly memorable. Recently tried their batata vada, samosa, and a few of the other popular dishes from the menu. Over the years, MM has been known for its wide variety, and you’ll find almost everything here under one roof. Some popular picks worth trying include: • Dahi Kachori – nicely assembled with sweet and spicy chutneys, fairly typical in flavour. • Pani Puri & Sev Puri – good hygiene and presentation, classic sweet-tangy balance, but similar to what you’ll get at most good chaat counters across the city. • Khaman Dhokla – soft and fresh, mildly sweet as expected. • Kachori – flaky outer crust with decent stuffing, best enjoyed warm. • Jalebi & Fafda – especially during festive mornings, fresh and satisfying. • Assorted Mithai & Dryfruit Sweets – vast range, neatly displayed, standard quality. The place remains clean and efficient, making it convenient for a quick bite or takeaway. Overall, it’s dependable and comforting, but the flavours feel quite ordinary — something you can easily find at many corners of Mumbai today.
