⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Serene and Historic Gem in Pune !!! Shinde Chhatri is a beautifully preserved historical landmark that offers a peaceful retreat right in the heart of Pune. The architecture is stunning — intricate carvings, grand pillars, and traditional Peshwa-era design make it a photographer’s delight. The surrounding gardens are well-kept and provide a quiet space for reflection, especially in the early morning or late afternoon. What stood out most was the sense of history you feel walking through the chhatri complex. Clean pathways and informative signboards made the visit even more enjoyable. Ideal for history lovers, culture seekers, and anyone looking for a calm, Instagram-worthy spot in Pune. Definitely worth a visit!
Amazing place to visit, for dates, family outings, tourists, gives good space to talk, a walk down memory lane of history. An amazing example of Neo Maratha architecture of 18th century, portrayed beautifully in the temple part and fusion of maratha, rajasthani and gothic architecture in the main building. The structure was supposed to be 5 times larger according to legends but because of contemporary wars around 1830, the funding got cut and it was ignored but still it got completed in amazing fashion. Entry fee in ₹50 per person for Indians and double for foreigners. Very underrated gem in tourism of pune and a landmark memorial of a great man Mahadji shinde, who captured delhi 10 yrs after maratha army's loss in battle of Panipat. There's also an anecdote told about mahadji, that he converted some parts of Taj mahal as a guest house and some for stable of maratha horses, made some important changes to taj surroundings and much more can be found about his conquest of North India. Also, the architecture of temple is very similar to Shiva temple in Maheshwar, MP, India. Which was a contemporary temple built by ahilyabai holkar, a very revered queen of maratha history.
Stunning Maratha heritage! The Anglo-Rajasthani architecture is exquisite, especially the colorful window panes and stone carvings. It’s a quiet spot located in Wanowrie, Pune. Entry is ₹50 for Indians (as of Feb 2026). Highly recommend visiting during the early morning or evening for the best light and a cooler experience.
