An excellent place to visit. The museum is very well maintained, and the exhibits are displayed neatly and thoughtfully. The seating arrangements are very good, and the lighting is decent and comfortable for viewing. It was a wonderful experience to learn about the history and truly feel the atmosphere of the place. The staff were friendly and approachable — unlike many other museums where movement feels restricted. Here, they were welcoming and even allowed photography. The collection is impressive and beautifully preserved. Overall, a very pleasant and enriching experience.

This was probably one of the best and most memorable museums I've ever visited. This is definitely an unforgettable experience for my trip to Chennai. Looking at the paintings (that I saw on YouTube) in real life is just mesmerising. I couldn't bring myself to move away from the painting exhibit. The firearms, coins and plates, etc., were also fascinating. But, the paintings were the main highlight. If you're in Chennai, DO NOT MISS THIS.

If you like museums this 3 storied museum is good for you. This was ancient fort building now converted to museum. If visited Salarjung museum you might find similar items here but this is of British queen era. Good area and reasonable priced. This is besides secretariat so you will be frisked on main entrance.
