Atal Bridge sits on the beautiful Sabarmati Riverfront between Ellis Bridge and Sardar Bridge, connecting the east and west sides of the city. It’s easily accessible from both promenades near Ashram Road and the riverfront walkways. Opened in August 2022, this pedestrian-only bridge quickly became one of Ahmedabad’s most recognisable landmarks. Around 300 m long, with a unique colourful design inspired by the city’s kite festival (Uttarayan). Built as part of the Sabarmati Riverfront development to connect public spaces and enhance tourism. Includes seating areas, planters, kiosks, and LED lighting that looks fantastic at night. This bridge isn’t just infrastructure - it’s a city experience. I visited the Atal Bridge during the International Flower Festival, and the experience was truly magical. The bridge was beautifully decorated, and the combination of the floral displays with the architecture of the bridge was a sight to behold. Ticket Pricing (Latest Updates): • Flower Festival Visit: During the festival, there was an additional fee of ₹50/- to access the floral exhibits. • Normal Days (Evening): If you visit during the evening peak hours (6:30 PM to 9:30 PM), the current ticket price is ₹60/-. • General Entry: Standard daytime entry is usually lower (around ₹30/-), but the evening lights make the extra cost worth it. Pro Tip: Try to visit around sunset! You get to see the transition from the golden hour to the vibrant LED light show. It can get quite crowded on weekends, so weekdays are better for photography.
