This is a huge sprawling book store on the third floor of a building. Yes there is a lift. A truly cool thing about blossom is that you can take your old books and they buy them from you at ridiculously low rates. Then those books are out up for sale with a good mark up but still much cheaper than getting that book brand new. However, they don't buy any books you take to them - for example I had a box set of P. C. Cast and he refused to take it. I had hard cover books of some fairy tales retorld from the Prince perspective - Cinderella but told my Prince Charming. These were beautiful hard covers in pristine condition and I had bought them not too long ago for rs800 each. He gave me just 75 for each of them which I felt was quite unfair. They pay more for "bestsellers" They didn't buy my extra copies of Gurudev's book celebrating silence which didn't make sense. In any case we got about 5000 rupees credit for two cartons of books and went in to the shop proper. You don't get cash btw only a credit note. It is not well organised and more for you to browse through and see if you can find something you want to read. There are stacks and stacks of books all over the place and near the entrance there is a semblance of organisation... But go deeper into the shop and all that vanishes... Piles and piles of books litter the place and sometimes there are books that are half opened and some others on top of them like they have been carelessly thrown around. This place really needs more staff and better organisation. But if you are in for an adventure and want to go hunting for some nice gems ... You just might find them here. There is no cafe and nothing here other than books. Thankfully there is no background music either. That would have made this place intolerable. It's right in the middle of the city with a metro station across the street. And even if you buy Rs 4000 worth of books from them and have lugged Rs 5000 worth of books to them they refuse to give you a free bag to carry your haul home. It's Rs 50 per bag. Not good. Worth a visit once a year I guess ... Helps clear out your space and you just might get some really nice books.
They have lots of books and lots of genre to select from. But can be little bit more organised. So that customers can find books they want in a easier way. They do take used books exchange for store coupon which you can use to get new book from their store which is good. But the pricing is too low which they take brand new books. I had brand new books which were used only once but they took it for lesser then half price of it which I had bought it for, which was sad.
This place is heaven for readers! There are new and old books. Lots of books to choose from. We came here for board books and we got some for affordable prices in good condition. There's a lift to come here with good condition stairs. We went to the other blossom book house and that was good but kinda scary since no good fire exit. Anyway this is a good place to go for book lovers.
