I really like this place! It’s a must-visit if you’re in Mumbai. Even though it is a very crowded place, the energy and the atmosphere are amazing. The architecture of the monument is stunning, and it looks even better with the view of the sea and the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in the background. It's a great spot for photos, though you have to be patient because of the crowds. I definitely recommend coming here at least once to experience the 'vibe' of the city!

Visited the Gateway of India during my Mumbai trip and it was definitely worth seeing. The monument looks impressive up close, especially with the Arabian Sea in the background. The area is lively with tourists, local vendors, and plenty of opportunities for photography. I enjoyed the sea breeze and watching the boats depart from the nearby jetty. It can get quite crowded, especially during weekends and evenings, so visiting early in the morning is a good idea. The place is well-maintained and offers a glimpse into Mumbai's rich history. A must-visit landmark for anyone exploring the city.

I visited Gateway of India mainly to head to Elephanta Caves and honestly, this is where you need to be careful. Many ticket sellers will confidently tell you the ticket is for Elephanta Caves, but in reality, some of them are just round-trip joy rides that bring you back to the Gateway itself. Important note: If you’re actually going to Elephanta Caves, make sure: 1. You go before 3 PM 2. The ticket price is around ₹130 or more Cheaper tickets are usually not for the caves — learned this the hard way. The place is extremely crowded, the heat can be brutal, and you’ll need patience. The vibe is energetic though, street noise, tourists everywhere, boats lining up, and the iconic view of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel right in front of you. Plenty of photographers will approach you. If you do get photos clicked, ask for digital copies. The printed versions are honestly poor in quality and not worth it. Overall experience? The enthusiasm is there, the atmosphere is lively, but it does feel a bit overhyped. Not bad, not amazing just… fine. Still, it’s one of those places you experience once, observe everything, question a few things internally, and move on. Enjoy your time at the Gateway — just go informed.
