MCC SCHOOL is located at the same campus where the college is the school staff well educated and well mannered. Patience is what I loved the most of the teachers and school management, education is good. Only part I don't like is beginning of the school we have to visit multiple time to collect school books, uniform, school has to manage this well organised rest seems good to me.
I can confidently say there's not much wrong with this college. Neither is there much good. The M in MCC stands for mediocre actually. For science, I recommend you come here if you get nothing else. It's pretty much just structured like school, teachers teach(pretty okay actually), you listen, etc. I mean, don't expect any big research culture. Also, we were expecting a four year program with final year being fully research or internship based. But they axed NEP and left us stranded. They did not even give us the research experience that SEP usually gives in third year. I have zero research experience to write about in my SOPs. And applying abroad is that much harder. I understand that they couldn't do much about the instability, but I did not feel even slightly supported through the transition. Kinda telling of their attitude. MCC isn't particularly known for being academic for a reason. Can't speak for other courses. The only thing setting us apart are the fests and stalls. If you like buying stuff you can easily get cheaper at commercial street or chikpete for cheaper, then this is your college. Otherwise, prepare to get bored of the fests soon. Unless you're actively participating in them. I do feel like there's a barrier to entry for most of our associations. They pride themselves on having 100+ options, but I tried my best to get into some, and couldn't get into many non-academic ones because they expect some level of expertise. They expected at least district level players when I tried signing up for badminton. There were auditions for another association I applied to because of there being so many people applying. I understand why that is so. But still, there's a lot of opportunities for people with established skills, not so many opportunities to learn new extra-curricular skills in my opinion. The dress code is a bit stupid. If you're muslim, do know that they do not like you wearing abaya or niqab inside campus. Hijab is fine, nothing else. To be fair, they didn't let us wear masks either for ‘security’ reasons but whatever. It's not like they really care, they'll let anyone with that red id tag in. I dislike the security guards. I had fun though. I made a few good friends at the end of my course. And I had good times in the canteen. I may or may not have seen a rat there once but other than that, okei. I recommend the spicy cheese sandwich and peri peri fried momo. Only thing I miss from my alma mater👍😩👍 I know some people who are hesitant to join because they think the girls here are all just here to club and God knows what. And I can only speak for my course, but that's really not the case. People are quite chill, atleast on the science side of things. A few outgoing people in every class, but it's not crazy. The time table was structured terribly. One or two hours of breaks for no reason in second year, dragging classes out late into the afternoon. When I lived near campus, it was alright, I would just go back to my hostel and nap. As a day scholar battling BLR traffic though, awful🥴 Free time is okay, had fun with my friends and stuff in the canteen but how much of that man. Prepare to spend HOURSSS on UUCMS. If you think you're done with UUCMS, I promise you, you're not. You will be back Washrooms suck. I peed maybe twice in three years there. I would just hold it in for HOURS and never drink water because I do NOT want to pee, it was gross. I thought that was just an India thing, but man, even SJU PG campus doesn't have such terrible bathrooms. What's their excuse? Even the library had a bunch of stupid rules. You can't wear your shoes in, they wouldn't let you take your bag, no phone, not more than one book, no loose papers, etc. And it was a mediocre library anyways. To be clear, I was here before they started bringing in boys and changing a lot of stuff so take everything with a pinch of salt.
