Clove Dental Clinic - Green Park, Delhi

I visited Clove Dental today for a hygiene appointment after it was recommended to me by a friend who is a dentist and spoke highly of their reputation across India. Before attending, I was told both by my friend and over the phone that a standard clean would usually cost between ₹2,000–₹3,000. However, once I arrived, I was quoted ₹5,000, which they then discounted to just over ₹4,000. While I appreciated the discount, the jump in pricing from what had originally been communicated was a little confusing. The clean itself was decent, and the one thing I would absolutely give full marks for was the fact they provide before-and-after photos of your teeth, which was actually really helpful and the report you get to take away. I was told the appointment would be around 30 minutes and classed as a “deep clean,” although they explained they wouldn’t be disturbing the gums and would instead focus on polishing, cleaning, and removing buildup from the teeth. That was completely fine with me. However, I was quite surprised by how the clean was carried out. Because they weren’t going near the gums, perhaps they felt numbing or anything additional wasn’t necessary, but my teeth were sensitive throughout. It honestly reminded me of dental cleans from years ago — quite clunky and uncomfortable at times. The hygienist herself was knowledgeable and clearly experienced, and the clean was done efficiently. But overall, the experience did feel rushed, almost as though they were trying to get me out quickly as the last appointment of the day. For me, the client experience aspect was lacking somewhat. I’m from the UK and regularly see a hygienist there, and the difference in patient experience was very noticeable. UK dental care tends to feel much more patient-focused and centred around comfort and care throughout the appointment. In comparison, while the result here was good, I didn’t necessarily feel looked after in the same way. In the end, the treatment came to around £37. Back in the UK, my deep clean with an airflow machine costs around £120, so yes, this was cheaper — but the difference in service and overall experience felt like night and day. I suppose it ultimately depends on what you’re looking for. If your priority is a quick clean at a lower cost, this may work well for you. Personally, I’m not sure whether I would choose to do it again here, or whether I’d rather pay the extra and just wait to see my own hygienist back home. I am glad I did do it, as it allowed to experience different.

I went for a consultation and basic cleaning procedure..attended by Dr Cecilia, she was really sweet and comfortable to talk too. The procedure was completed with utmost care and she heard all my concerns and gave me advice accordingly. So it was a good first experience at clove!!
