Savya Rasa is not just a meal — it’s an education in the extraordinary depth of South Indian cuisine, and one I won’t soon forget. From the first bite, it was clear this kitchen takes its craft seriously. The fish, draped in a vibrant green paste, was aromatic and perfectly balanced — bold without overwhelming. The marinated chicken was tender and layered with flavor, while the lamb was rich and deeply satisfying. But the real revelation? The bun parotta — pillowy, flaky, impossibly good — served alongside three curries that could not have been more different from one another: a tangy mango curry with bright acidity, a gentle vegetable stew with quiet complexity, and a tofu preparation that surprised me with its depth. The variety of textures and flavors across the table was remarkable; every bite told a different story. To drink, I had fresh coconut juice with honey — simple, cool, and refreshing — a perfect counterpoint to the richness of the dishes. And dessert: a delicate young coconut jelly, soft and subtly sweet, the ideal ending to an abundant meal. What truly elevated the evening was our server, Jiaudeen. Attentive, warm, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food, he surprised us with a complimentary dish made from raw banana and flour, served with a bright, zesty ginger chutney — earthy and rustic, with a gentle heat that lingered in the best possible way. It was the kind of unexpected generosity that turns a great dinner into a truly memorable one. If you’ve never experienced South Indian cuisine at this level, Savya Rasa is the place to start. Come hungry, come curious, and let Jiaudeen guide you.

Savya Rasa was a decent experience as we loved the whole ambiance and the setup, the food however fell short. We had the following. Kozhi Rasam was a spicy delight, absolutely loved how chicken and rasam get along as a soup. Prawn Shunti Munchi was the best dish at Savya Rasa. The quantity is massive, a tangy after taste, but the perfect starter. Milagu Kozhi Chettinad, this chettinad style curry had a lot of pepper so it was a little too overpowering. The chicken pieces weren’t all that tender either, so kinda disappointed. We had the bun parota, again very average compared to what you get in Tami Nadu, Appam was fantastic, while the Nei Choru was good but we couldn’t finish this as the quantity of rice was too much for two people. Overall it was an up and down experience, the staff initially were easily available but later it became a task to figure out why no one is attending the table.
