Walking into Mocambo after five years felt like stepping back into a part of my own story. The moment I entered, that familiar dim lighting and old-world Park Street charm hit me. Some places evolve with time without losing their soul — and Mocambo is exactly that. We began with the Prawn Almost Famous — juicy, rich, indulgent, and absolutely worthy of its name. The Ham Pillow was soft and creamy, pure comfort on a plate. Then came the stars — the sizzlers. The Fish Steak Sizzler arrived with that iconic sound that makes everyone look up. Perfectly flaky fish, buttery sauce, and those classic Mocambo vegetables — simple and satisfying. The Chicken Chipotle Sizzler had a beautiful smoky kick, bold but balanced, with tender, juicy chicken. What I love about Mocambo is that it doesn’t try to be trendy. It just stays consistently great. The service still feels warm and old-school, the portions are generous, and the food still carries that theatre. Five years later, it still feels like the king of sizzlers in Kolkata — not just for the food, but for the memories it quietly holds.

There’s hardly anything new left to say about this iconic heritage restaurant of Kolkata — its reputation truly speaks for itself. We tried four of their famous delicacies: 1. Devilled Crab 2. Chicken A La Kiev 3. Chicken Lasagne 4. Baked Alaska Each dish had its own unique identity and taste. These were not just meals; they felt like experiences in themselves — something different from the usual dining experiences we’ve had before. Every dish carried a sense of tradition and uniqueness that made the visit truly memorable. If you enjoy exploring legendary places and experiencing classic food culture, this restaurant deserves more than one visit. Just one small heads-up — be prepared for a waiting line, as the place is often crowded and people patiently wait for their turn to experience it. It was my first time here at Mocambo and I asolutely loved the food here!! The star dish for me was Chicken A La Kiev, soo buttery, so crispy, I really loved it. Overall the ambience is great, food is delicious and with the quality of food that they serve the price is on point. Highly recommend!!
