Saravana Bhavan

The South Indian food here is really lovely, especially the dosa and idli. The dosa is incredibly good and the idli is the most delicious I’ve ever had. It’s a must-visit. The only thing I feel needs improvement is the sambhar. I had a much better sambhar here than this one.

Saravana Bhavan, Janpath truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best places for South Indian food in Delhi. The food quality is consistently excellent, making it a go-to spot for anyone craving authentic flavors. The mini idlis (often called button idlis in Bangalore) are a must-try: soft, fluffy, and served perfectly with flavorful sambar and chutneys. The dosas were of superior quality: crisp, well-fermented, and generously portioned. Even the filter coffee stood out, rich and aromatic, and a perfect way to end the meal. Be prepared for a waiting time of around 30–45 minutes, especially during peak hours, but it’s absolutely worth it for the food and overall experience.

Visited Saravana Bhavan at CP Janpath and it was a satisfying South Indian experience. The place has a clean, simple vibe and quick service despite being quite busy. We tried the dosas and idlis – both were fresh, crisp, and served with authentic chutneys and sambar. The filter coffee was a highlight, perfectly strong and flavorful, just like you’d expect from a classic South Indian café. Portions are decent and pricing is reasonable for the location. The only downside was a bit of waiting time during peak hours, but the food made up for it. Overall, a reliable spot in Connaught Place if you’re craving authentic South Indian food. 👍
